Does the New Testament distort actual events so as to blame the Jews for Christ's death?

"Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it up again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my father" (John 10:17,18) Jesus settled the question forever. The truth of the matter is that we are all responsible for His death. As said it Isaiah 53:6, ...and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all." Again in Isaiah 53:10 we read, "Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him..." Many want to place all of the responsibility for Christ's death on the Jews; others want to absolve them of any responsibility whatsoever. God laid our sins upon him that his death might atone for our sins. Therefore anyone who has sinned is responsible. That means the entire world, Jew and gentile.

As for claims of distorted events and so-called contradictions, they are fabricated. A careful study of the Gospels will reveal that what seems like a contradiction actually reveals amazing details of particular events. This has always been God's way. If you don't believe it just figure out if who was the father-in-law of Moses. Was it Jethro (Ex. 3:1), Raguel (Num 10:29), or Hobab (Judges 4:11)? Is there a contradiction? Not on your life. Study it out. By the way, how did King Saul die? (I Sam. 31;3-5 II Sam 1:6-10)
